Hi, Enjoyed the sharing - thought the work was well written - and character was very well developed and believable. Only thing I didn't get (and wonder if it's a conceit that is set up at another point in the show) is when you left the wheelchair - and I'm afraid this was a bit distracting for me as I couldn't work it out...found myself trying to work it out etc... Also think you'd benefit from some solid time with a Director, but ultimately thought it had great potential and could be a really interesting story - so thanks and good luck! Pippa

Having seen its first outing at Pilot Light, and then another extract at Pilot last night, I really like how this piece is developing. The central performance by Alex is fab – it somehow manages to be funny, likable, frightening, and repulsive all at the same time. Well done Lou for stepping in at the last minute and doing a great job with so little preparation. It was nice to get a small insight into the wife character – I’d really like to know more about her, and about how the relationship between the two female characters will evolve. Well done Alex – keep us posted with developments.

I liked the writing a lot as well as the performances (including an amazing bit of reading in!). I think this piece revealed one of Pilot's intrinsic weaknesses - you never know how what has been made or thought about that you haven't seen. So I was thinking "I've enjoyed these fragments, but where is the peril / suspense / relationship / tension / hook that would get me through a full length version of this? Is it the tension within the man who once drew all his self-esteem from his physicality and now finds himself in a wheel chair, or is it a potential infidelity with the journalist, or is it the playing out of some story around the abuse of his brother. or some combination of these?" I'd like see a full production to find out. Get on with it, do it! Make the whole thing! I understand there have been solo versions of the piece using projections Etc., I enjoyed seeing two people talking to each other on stage in your piece - essentially the only time this happened in this edition of Pilot! Good luck James

One of my favourites. Never seen any stage stuff about wrestlers before. Is there anything else like this out there? I haven't seen any. It was really dark, REALLY dark in places, but the guy was so intense and so into it that I really bought into it and went along with him, even when it was asking me mto think about really tough questions. I don't know what I'd do to protect somebody I cared about or how I'd treat somone who'd abused somebody - I don't think I'd be able to go as far as he was going to, but it makes you put yourself in that position. I'd like to see more of his life before the section we watched starts, like how he got into wrestling and what his career was like; that way we'd probably understand how he feels even more because we'd know exactly what he's lost now he's in his wheelchair.

I saw this piece first at July's Pilot Light night and found it engaging then; having been brought in last minute to read in for '2' of the characters. and despite having about 10 mins in a tech shortly before before actually performing, I found the quality of the writing meant that it was a joy to perform and the characters formed easily and immediately from the text. I was still able to enjoy Alex's performance albeit from the perspective of being in the scenes rather than outside them and in the audience. I think the powerfulness of the script and Alex's performance combined makes this a very exciting, engaging and thought-provoking piece. Well done Alex, it was a pleasure to perform this script with you

I first saw this piece at July's Pilot Light night and found it an engaging piece then. Having been brought in last minute to play 2 of the characters I found it a joy to perform. Despite a 10 minute tech very shortly prior to the performance being the only preparation I had, I found the quality of the writing meant the characters were immediately and easily formed for me to play. I was able to enojy the piece and Alex's performance albeit from within the scenes rather than outside them as an audience member. I think the powerfulness of the piece combined the intensity and quality of Alex's performance make this an exciting, engaging and thought-provoking and it was a pleasure to perfom the script with Alex; well done Alex!
