As always PILOT nights are a motley assortment of new, untested shorts from some of the most exciting theatre companies around.

PILOT’s new producing team, Samantha Fox, Jess Mackinnon and Paul Warwick invite you to The Custard Factory, Birmingham on the 28th of August to re-launch PILOT with an exciting INTERNATIONAL line up of scratch performances not to be missed including… the UK premiere of award winning Australian company Side Pony Productions, PILOT star Ed Rapley returns, local favourites Spanner and HamFisted! are back plus the brand new Birmingham based company, Stepping On Rakes. To top it off Tikur Anbessa performs his explosive one man show and London-based Vier Theatre make their Midlands debut.

PILOT Nights

PILOT Nights are a motley assortment of new, untested shorts from some of the UK’s most exciting theatre companies. Each last between 10 and 20 minutes and together present a glorious mix of comic, touching and peculiar performance. The bar is open all night and musicians play in the intervals. The audience are invited to get a drink, enjoy the show and stick around to let the performers know exactly what they thought.

Who runs PILOT?

PILOT was conceived and set up by Simon Day of The B-Theatre. It is now managed by: Samantha Fox - Co-artistic director and performer Kindle Theatre (www.kindletheatre.co.uk); Jess Mackinnon – Co-artistic director and performer Kindle Theatre; Paul Warwick – Director China Plate productions (www.chinaplatetheatre.com).

This core team are supported by a rotating number of Co-PILOTs who assist in the production of one PILOT Night. Co-PILOTs are all practising artists with an interest in producing/ curating.
